Lab Report Analysis – Self Reflection

The purpose of this task is to analyze the Lab Report Analysis Essay and critique any weak points or items that could have been changed. Throughout this process I was able to analyze my writing skills, structuring ability, as well as view how well I can take information and compare it to other factors. This essay focuses on the research of 3 separate Lab Reports which explore a similar topic, mine being video games and health benefits. The main body of the essay focuses on describing the reports as well as comparing sections of the report in order to analyze what pros and cons exist in each style of writing and report. 

Throughout this process of critiquing my work, I was able to find many points of improvement such as structuring my paragraphs. By using a common split point, I would have been able to split one long paragraph into two or three paragraphs in order to lessen clutter and confusion for the readers. Along with this I was able to find that my specific writing style needed to be altered in order to fit in the analysis of the reports and how they differed when compared to each other. Some other parts I could benefit from altering include the introduction where I could include a detailed summary of the essay as well as the thesis statement which brings readers to a clear point. 

The main conclusions drawn from this essay’s reflection were how to improve my writing by utilizing the approaches listed above and using them to my advantage when I write in order to effectively enlighten and educate the reader. It will allow me to present info in a more clear and concise format while including detail to explore a certain topic or area.
